STAR Community Curriculum
Our Curriculum
WINGS Curriculum is a comprehensive learning system designed to guide early educators in effectively organizing and implementing developmentally and culturally appropriate practices based on the interests, needs and skill levels of children from infancy through age 5.
WINGS is an acronym for:
Wonder Interests Needs Goals Skills
Child Care, Preschool, and Early Childhood Education Program
The curriculum for our preschool includes a balance of guided play activities, creative movement, reading and math readiness, creative art, science, and Bible. We also support the children’s creativity through music, conversation, story times, and dramatic play. Outdoor play, exploration, and large and small group activities round out their schedule. Weekly chapel is also an important part of their spiritual experience here. Our preschool uses the WINGS curriculum, a Georgia approved curriculum that has been identified as one model that optimally aligns with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).
CURRICULUM RESOURCES:
- Bible (Purposeful Design)
- Weekly Chapel
- WINGS, The Ideal Curriculum for Preschool Children
- Language Arts and Reading Enrichment
- Computer (PreK/Readiness)
- Music & Creative Movement
- Art and Physical Education
